Stewie Is Enceinte is the twelfth episode of the thirteenth season of the American blithe goggle box sitcomFamily Guy, and the 243rd episode overall. Information technology aired on Fox in the United states of america on March 8, 2015.
Plot
Stewie impregnates himself with Brian'due south DNA, having the belief that a baby will save their relationship. They end up with a litter of dog-human hybrid babies who prove themselves to be challenging to raise due to their birth defects. Meanwhile, Peter and his friends attempt to create the adjacent hitting viral video.
Why This Episode Is Stillborn
- Absolutely Horrible Plot: the idea of Stewie, an INFANT, existence pregnant with canis familiaris-human hybrid babies non only makes no sense whatsoever, simply is also merely downright disturbing. What's near ironic is that he does this in guild to reinforce his friendship with Brian so that he doesn't leave him when this just makes Brian desire to get away from him every bit much as possible.
- The idea was also but based off i line in "Christmas Guy", which has been confirmed past the DVD commentary for that episode.[ii]
- Because of it, this episode basically promotes animality and statutory rape all at the same time, since Brian is an adult dog and Stewie is a human infant.
- The scene with Stewie giving nascency in the car is 1 of the most icky moments in Family Guy history, but thankfully, it wasn't straight shown.
- What'southward even worse is that it implies that Stewie gives nascence to the hybrids from EVERY ORIFICE of his entire body, which sounds admittedly painful and horrifying.
- Brian is tortured throughout the entire episode in an example where he actually does not deserve it.
- Stewie is really at his worst in this episode, as he keeps mistreating Brian and interim like a existent pregnant adult female which becomes very annoying. In fact, this episode takes the flanderization of his character up to xi.
- It is definitely the Stimpy's Pregnant of Family Guy (not counting Peter's plot).
- It tries to brand sense of humour of Brian forcing a miscarriage by punching Stewie and asking Dr. Hartman if there is a lot of stairs in the edifice.
- At that place is an unfunny running joke with Stewie looking at infant stuff only for Brian to tell him that he also is a baby.
- Most of Brian and Stewie's hybrid babies await disturbing, like the the brain-damaged Brain-Stewie hybrid for example.
Redeeming Qualities
- Depending on your view, the subplot with Peter, Joe, Quagmire, and Cleveland wanting to make a viral video is enjoyable, since it is less horrifying than the main plot.
- The "I like dick!" role was pretty funny.
- As mentioned in WIS #2, the office where Stewie is giving birth is non direct shown.
- Although the joke was predictable, the scene where Peter does an every day film video with the Grudge Kid haunting him in the background while "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T'southward plays during the scene is actually pretty funny.
- Brian is surprisingly likable in this episode as he isn't flanderized like he ordinarily is, and he comes off as right that Stewie'due south decision is bad and he is very sympathetic in this episode due to how horribly he is treated by Stewie.
- While the hybrid babies wait disturbing, some of them look cute, like the infant that really looks like a dog and the baby with the caput of Stewie.
Reception
The episode generally received negative reviews from fans of Family Guy, mainly due to the thought of Stewie becoming pregnant and also the disgusting hybrids of Stewie's children.[iii] [4] It currently sits at a 5.half-dozen rating on IMDb.[5]
Trivia
- Equally mentioned above, this was the final episode to air on Adult Swim before information technology was taken off the air due to Disney networks acquiring the circulate rights to the serial.[1]
